Simple Guidance for You in Import Export Course
For more information, see Exporting a Course and Importing a Course through Studio. After a course is released, you can use the course export and import tools in Studio to save a backup of the course and, if necessary, re-import the course for editing.
To save a copy of a Brightspace course (ONLY the Brightspace course components and course organization - no student data) to a local computer, instructors can export the course components and save the .zip file to the local computer. Exporting Brightspace Course Components creates a ZIP file that can be reused. To update a Brightspace course with components from another course, instructors can use the Import feature to import an exported ZIP course file (ONLY Brightspace course components and course organization - no student data) if the export has been completed and the ZIP file is available.
The Import/Export/Copy Components utility includes a validation logic step during the course copy process, informing users if they have previously copied from the source. Please note that selecting option A (copy all components) will immediately initiate the copying process, which will result in the copying of previously copied existing material if a full copy of the course has already been made. The "Copy Another Package" button returns the user to the top of the "Import/Export/Copy" component area, and if desired, the user can click the "Copy Another Package" button to copy multiple items from the same course or another course.
In the course offering that contains the components you want to copy, in the navigation bar, click Course Administration > Import/Export/Copy Components. The Export button will appear in the course table in the Course Export column.
Once you receive the import email, go back to the original course, go to Packages and Utilities, and select Export/Course Archive as in step 2. To complete the import, select the .xls or .xlsx file of the pre-made template and click the Import Course button. Courses are downloaded as .xls or .xlsx files, which can be imported into another Learn Dash site using this plugin.
This add-on uses a simple template to import and export courses, lessons and topics. You can import multiple courses at the same time using a single template file by adding multiple entries to the "Courses" sheet of the template. To export multiple courses to a single file, simply select the courses you want to export and then select the Export to XLS or Export to XLSX options in the Group Options field.
After importing the file, you will see a list of all imported courses. When you export a course, its content is added to the corresponding fields in the spreadsheet file. Warning Before exporting and importing courses, ensure that links in courses to other course content use the /jump to id/ syntax.
